Upper left photo was taken from the lower level and at this level you can get a real good view of the canyon to the South and of the river bottom. The Cottonwoods turn a bright gold in the Fall so try to picture the green Pi๑on and Juniper trees, blue skies, bright red rocks and a river of gold in the Fall. From this level and looking straight across, it almost feels like you can touch the canyon walls. I used to live in the canyon and there is an aura that grabs you. During the rainy season and especially in August and September, the thunder just rolls up and down the canyon. During the Winter and after a snowfall and at the full moon, this canyon just brightens up. Upper right photo was taken about 4 miles South and it gives you good idea of what the river bottom looks like in the Fall. |
